Fabrication Weekend
Teens and Adults 14- 94 years October 25 & 26, 2014 9am-1pm Drop-in for up to 4 hours. Sliding scale $25-$75 - Materials TBD Rm 507, Sir Francis Drake High School, San Anselmo, CA Led by Peter Parish Space is limited. Pre-register and get a 1-hour consultation with instructor Peter Parish to help you design and prepare for the workshop. Just in time for Halloween or your favorite Cosplay event, it's fabrication weekend! During this drop-in mask making and fabricating workshop instructor Peter Parish will help you bring your dream outfit to life. Peter may also offer an option to create foam-latex prosthetic make-up pieces - more skilled students may be able to create professional make-up pieces to augment their Halloween make-up and cosplay designs. Materials available for use Plasticine (non-drying) clay Carving and shaping tools Blank face molds to sculpt on Dress forms to create on Glue guns Air brush Sewing Machine Band Saw Multi-master Free box full of shiny things to use on your design Make-up and face paint consultation. Peter's creative brain and technical knowledge Materials available for purchase Liquid Latex Foam Latex* Altra-Form, a thermoplastic that is lightweight and very durable. Opens and closed-cell foams Sculpting Foam (L200) Peter Parish has been making masks and fabricating for over 20 years in a variety of materials and media. From leather to papier maché, Peter’s masks and props have been on many stages across the San Francisco Bay Area. In the summer of 2013, Peter designed and created 16 masks and two life-sized stag puppets for Curtain Theater’s The King Stag in Mill Valley’s Old Mill Park as well as a "Clean-up Machine" and fish puppet for Cat in the Hat and a six foot Bunny for Knuffle Bunny at Bay Area Children's Theater. Materials: Bring your own supplies or purchase some at the workshop.
